Rare Bonnet shell Fossil from FLORIDA Oligocene period-
Phalium caelativa
This fossil Bonnet shell is
from the Oligocene period
,
part of the Suwannee Limestone Formation
.   It was collected at the bottom of the CEMEX Vulcan Mine, Brooksville, Fl.   It is now closed to the general public like most fossil pits in Florida.
You get the exact specimen shown in the photos above.  The
Phalium caelativa
SHELL is 3.5 cm long.
